It started with a simple email from the to-be bride, Tathira enquiring about wedding photography packages for her upcoming Canberra Wedding.
Since then, I had the pleasure of meeting both Tathira and her fiance Stephen at our Sydney studio. We discussed their itinerary for the day amongst lots of other details.
On the day...
One of the most exciting weddings we shot was on a trip to Canberra. We started very early morning from Sydney stopping on the highway for a quick breakfast.
We arrived at the Tathira's parent's house - a wonderful place in a beautiful Canberra residential area- and the make-up artist was almost done. She had done a fantastic job, which meant great shots for us. Tathira was surrounded by her friends and close relatives who were all so excited for her. She wore a gorgeous blue traditional dress on along with all the jewelry and accessories that go with it.
Wedding (Nikah Ceremony):
In no time, the guests started arriving and the groom along with his family made the entry. Stephen looked very dashing in his traditional Bangladeshi outfit. Later, the priest started the 'Nikah' ceremony - in traditional Bangladeshi style. After the ceremony, they exchanged rings. Lunch was served soon after that.
After lunch, everyone started departing to prepare and get dressed for the dinner. The bride and the groom, driven by Stephen's brother in his gorgeous Audi, left for some post wedding shots at and around Canberra.
Reception Dinner:
Reception-dinner was held at The Abbey which was a really beautiful hall which is very popular for art concerts and as a intimate theater We had a great time taking detail shots before the guests arrived. The hall has a bar, a piano, a special upper deck for a DJ and an ancient looking huge organ.
The function came to an end around 11 pm after which we headed to The Hilton, Canberra to take a few shots of the newly wedded couple.
